Amata Rayong

BMW Group Plant

The plant represents a key example of the company’s iFACTORY philosophy, which integrates the principles of “Lean, Green, and Digital” into modern vehicle manufacturing. Within highly optimized production lines, visitors can observe the assembly of premium vehicles supported by advanced automation, sustainable energy practices, and data-driven manufacturing systems.

The facility holds a unique position within BMW’s global production network as the only plant worldwide that assembles three brands—BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad—under one roof. Production ranges from luxury passenger vehicles such as the BMW 3 Series and X-series models to high-performance motorcycles. The site has further strengthened its role in the global value chain with the establishment of a dedicated motorcycle parts manufacturing facility in 2023, a 2.35-billion-baht investment that marks the first BMW motorcycle components plant located outside Germany.

AutoAlliance Thailand

demonstrates another dimension of industrial efficiency through strategic collaboration. This joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation operates one of the most advanced dual-brand assembly lines in the region. The plant is widely recognized for its implementation of lean production systems that allow vehicles from both manufacturers to be assembled simultaneously on shared production lines while maintaining strict quality and operational standards. AutoAlliance Thailand plays a critical role in reinforcing Thailand’s global automotive position, particularly in the light commercial vehicle segment, contributing significantly to the country’s status as the world’s second-largest producer of pickup trucks.

Amata City Rayong

As one of the region’s most significant industrial clusters, the estate hosts a growing network of global manufacturers and specialized suppliers that serve both domestic production and international exports. Among the newest investments is the facility developed by Changan Automobile, representing the company’s first overseas production base dedicated to new energy vehicles. This state-of-the-art complex includes full-process workshops for welding, painting, final assembly, and battery unit production, reflecting Thailand’s growing role in the global EV supply chain and the country’s ambition to become a regional hub for next-generation mobility.

Complementing these assembly operations are major component and technology suppliers located throughout the estate. Companies such as Bosch contribute a wide range of automotive technologies and systems, while POSCO supplies specialized automotive-grade steel used in vehicle production. Together, these suppliers reinforce the industrial ecosystem that supports high-precision manufacturing and ensures a steady flow of advanced components for global vehicle assembly lines.
