Erawan Museum

A striking cultural landmark best known for its colossal three-headed elephant sculpture, Erawan, drawn from Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. Conceived by patron and cultural visionary Lek Viriyaphant, the museum was designed to present Thai spiritual philosophy and cosmological beliefs through art and architecture. Its interior galleries symbolically represent the underworld, the human world, and the celestial realm, displaying religious artifacts, antiques, and traditional craftsmanship. The museum reflects a modern effort to preserve and reinterpret Thailand’s spiritual heritage in an immersive and educational setting.

Ancient City

Also known as Muang Boran, is one of the world’s largest open-air museums and a remarkable representation of Thailand’s historical and cultural landscape. Conceived by cultural patron Lek Viriyaphant, the site was designed to reflect the geographic shape of Thailand while showcasing replicas of important monuments from different regions and periods. These include temples, palaces, city gates, and sacred sites, many of which are based on structures that have been altered or lost over time.

Beyond its architectural displays, Muang Boran functions as a living classroom for Thai heritage. The site presents myths, religious cosmology, and traditional ways of life alongside historical reconstructions, illustrating the close relationship between Buddhism, kingship, and local culture. By bringing together monuments from across the kingdom in a single setting, Ancient City helps preserve collective memory and fosters appreciation for Thailand’s cultural conservation.
